Jewelry Care

Handmade jewelry is delicate. Never play sports, swim or shower while wearing your jewelry. Do not bend excessively as this may break the metal.

Make sure that your jewelry is the first thing you take off and the last thing you put on.  Chemicals such as perfumes, hairspray and other beauty products can cause your jewelry to lose its natural shine and damage the darkened patina on copper.

It is natural for sterling silver to tarnish after being exposed to air for long periods of time.  Always store your sterling silver jewelry in an air tight container (such as a sealed plastic bag) when you are not wearing it.  This will prevent oxidation.

The patina on our copper jewelry is not sealed with a lacquer finish.  Patina will wear over time and the color will change a bit showing the copper’s natural patina in some areas.  Darkened patina may also change color if you have acidic skin. This reaction may leave a dark or green color on your skin which is easily washed off with soap and water.  Citrus and vinegar will also remove the darkened patina from the jewelry and may cause damage to the stones.  To prevent the finish from changing color you may want to remove your copper jewelry while working with any acidic products.

If you need to clean your jewelry please use a soft brush with some warm water and a mild liquid dish detergent.

For sterling silver you may also gently use a silver polishing cloth.

Do not use jewelry cleaning solutions as they may damage the natural stone.

By following the above tips you will enjoy your jewelry for many years to come! :-)
